About Sharon
Hi, I'm Sharon. I know what it feels like to think your time has passed.
I'm a Caribbean mom of three, a Believer in Christ, and the author of two books. I love cooking home-cooked meals, gospel music (Fred Hammond is my all-time favorite), and the R&B of the 70s and 80s.
I'm also a woman who spent a long time doubting herself. This page is the honest version of how I got here.
The shy girl who didn't believe in herself
In school I was very shy. I carried a lot of self-doubt and low self-esteem, and I wondered what people would say about me if I ever stepped out.
By the help of God, I overcame much of that. Today I'm proud to be a Godly woman who fought her way out of low self-esteem. But I'll be honest with you: the fear of rejection still tries to whisper, and I'm still learning to set my face like a flint.
Years of chasing every new program
Like a lot of women, I tried program after program, hoping the next one would be the one. Each time I started over, I lost a little more confidence and a little more time.
If I could go back and give myself one piece of advice, it would be this: stop chasing every shiny thing and stay focused. Thank God it's not too late.
Then a dear friend told me about HBA
She was doing well with The Home Business Academy, and she kept talking about its purpose and its ethical leaders. What made me say "this is different" was the leadership, a community that looks like a real family, and the way HBA gives to children who are hungry.
I believe God led me here. I felt nervous, excited, hopeful for the first time in a while, and yes, a little skeptical. I came anyway.
Why I write this blog
My mission is to help others find true purpose, especially Christian women over 50 and empty nesters who feel left behind, like life has passed them by.
You still have so much to offer. You can have a full life, a business of your own, and real joy while you help others do the same. I'm walking that path right now, and I'm sharing every step here, to the glory of God.
